University ranked third in fourth Holy Quran competition

Modern Specialized University wins third place in the 25-part category of the fourth Holy Quran competition

Conclusion of the Fourth Holy Quran Competition

In an atmosphere of faith imbued with the spirit of the blessed month of Ramadan, under the patronage of Mr. Hassan Abdullah Al-Saadi, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Deputy Minister Dr. Hatem Al-Da’is, Deputy Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, the Secretary General of the University, Mr. Safwan Al-Jabr, the Director General of Student Activities at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research – Higher Education Sector – Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Competition, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Dahhak, and the Director of Student Relations and Activities at the University, Mr. Adel Kleib.

modern specialized university achieved a distinguished presence in the fourth Holy Quran competition, hosted by 21 September University with wide participation from public and private universities and community colleges.

The competition saw the participation of about 30 universities and community colleges, with the participation of approximately 350 male and female students who competed in several Quranic categories, reflecting an outstanding level of memorization and mastery among the participating students.

The university wins third place in the 25th category

The Modern Specialized University managed to achieve third place in the 25th and 20th categories, an achievement that reflects the university’s interest in nurturing Quranic talent among its students and encouraging them to excel in memorizing and reciting the Book of Allah.

In his opening speech, the President of 21 September University, Prof. Dr. Mujahid Maasaar, emphasized that this competition represents an important milestone in strengthening students’ connection to the Holy Quran and consolidating faith and moral values among university youth.

Speech by the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research

For his part, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Hatem Al-Da’is expressed his pride in the outstanding level of performance shown by the participating students, stressing that the Ministry attaches great importance to Quranic activities due to their profound impact on building students’ personalities and strengthening their religious and cultural identity.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ibrahim Luqman, explained that organizing such competitions reflects the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research’s approach to supporting meaningful student activities that contribute to honing students’ skills and developing their abilities in various fields, foremost among which is memorizing the Holy Quran.

Speech by the Director General of Student Activities at the Ministry

In the speech of the organizing committee, the Director General of Student Activities at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research – Higher Education Sector and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the competition, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Dahhak, pointed out that the competition witnessed wide participation and great competition among students, stressing that this interaction reflects the interest of universities and community colleges in developing Quranic talents and encouraging students to connect with the Book of Allah.

Writer, author, and thinker Yahya Abu Awada also gave a speech in which he addressed the historical and religious significance of the Battle of Badr, reviewing its meanings of steadfastness, patience, and victory, and emphasizing the importance of drawing inspiration from its values in the reality of the nation, especially among young people.

A word about participating universities

In a speech delivered on behalf of participating universities and community colleges, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, Vice President of Dhamar University, expressed the academic institutions’ appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in organizing this Quranic event, emphasizing that such competitions contribute to fostering a spirit of positive competition among students and reinforcing the status of the Holy Quran in university life.
The event concluded with the honoring of the winning students and participating entities, amid widespread praise for the level of organization and competition, and for the role that universities play in supporting Quranic activities and instilling values of faith in students.
