The quality control and management process is seen as an organized process through which the degree to which the academic institution operates in carrying out its duties and responsibilities according to the quality standards and regulations issued by the Academic Accreditation Council.  Since the beginning of the establishment of the modern specialized university, the university leadership paid attention to the quality of education at the university, considering that the educational process must be improved in all its aspects, including inputs, processes, outputs and providing an ideal learning environment, so the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center was established at the university, and its first task was to determine the priorities that must be implemented in the field of quality control and academic development for all university activities and services, seeking to achieve the mission, vision and goals of the university, which stipulated achieving leadership and excellence in university education and scientific research locally, regionally and internationally.

To achieve this, it is necessary to follow logical and gradual steps, the first of which was to find guides, plans, regulations and systems that draw the method of work that must be followed by applying an internal quality system for the university that seeks to achieve the basic standards from which the university must start to reach the highest levels of development and quality of university education through building strong accredited programs, distinguished academic staff, effective management and educational outputs at a high level of efficiency and expertise that serve the nation and meet the requirements of the contemporary labor market, planning, evaluation and continuous improvement programs because quality standards are constantly evolving and a basic requirement is to work efficiently.

Goals of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center

This center seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Spreading the culture of quality and academic and administrative development in all units and departments of the university.
  2.  Applying academic and administrative quality standards in the university based on the national academic accreditation standards.
  3. Supervising the quality assurance units at the university that are technically affiliated with the center.
  4. Preparing the university’s internal quality manual.
  5. Supervision, follow-up, review and performance evaluation of quality assurance in the faculties, centers and departments of the university in light of the standards of the Council for Academic Accreditation and National Quality Assurance.
  6. Participating in the meetings of the university councils.
  7. Coordinating with the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education to help gain the necessary expertise and raise the capabilities of faculty members and university leaders through training and qualification to apply quality standards and academic development in all units, departments and colleges of the university.
  8. Coordinating with the Council for Academic Accreditation and Higher Education Quality Assurance to provide technical support for the accreditation of the university’s academic programs.
  9. Representing the university in everything related to quality and academic development locally and internationally

Duties of the Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center

  • Contributing to the preparation of the university’s strategic plan, annual plan and periodic reports.
  • Preparing the university’s internal quality manual.
  • Preparing the university’s quality and academic development regulations.
  • Raising awareness of the university’s affiliates about quality standards and academic accreditation.
  • Supervising the process of applying the university’s quality standards and preparing executive and corrective plans in the faculties and departments of the university.
  • Follow up the implementation of the self-assessment process in the faculties and departments of the university.
  • Proposing the necessary development and improvement processes at the university based on the results of the evaluation processes.
  • Directing the work of quality coordinators in the faculties and departments of the university.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council.

 Duties of the Head of the Quality Unit in the College and Scientific Department

    • Contribute to spreading the culture of quality in the department/college.
    • Preparing and preparing for the evaluation processes, internal audits and comprehensive programmatic self-evaluation of the department/college.
    • Preparing annual and quarterly comprehensive self-assessment reports for the department or college.
    • Contributing to the preparation of self-assessment forms for the department/college.
    • Contributing to identifying the training needs of the department/college in the field of quality.
    • Supervising and following up on the receipt and delivery of evaluation forms.
