Presentations by Students from the #Clinical_Pharmacy and #General_Pharmacy Departments

Students from the Departments of Clinical and General Pharmacy delivered a high-quality presentation titled “Carcinogens” at a scientific fair that drew significant academic attendance, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting health awareness and supporting students’ research and presentation skills.

The presentation was held under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University, Prof. Mithaq Al-Jabr, and was attended by the Vice President of the University, Prof. Adel Al-Shimiri; the Secretary General of the University, Mr. Safwan Al-Jabr; the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Abdul Ghani Muhyi; and the Dean of Quality, Dr. Ammar Muhammad as well as the Head of the Pharmacy Department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bajali, and the Head of the Equipment Department, Dr. Hamid Taher.

During the presentation, the students reviewed a comprehensive concept of carcinogens, starting with their definition, types, and environmental, chemical, and biological sources, and extending to the mechanisms by which they affect human cells.

The presentation included recent data on the prevalence of cancer globally and locally, highlighting avoidable risk factors such as smoking, exposure to pollutants, poor nutrition, and certain unhealthy lifestyle practices.

The students also addressed the efforts of international health organizations in combating carcinogens, presented examples of early detection methods, and emphasized the importance of health awareness in reducing the spread of cancer.

The presentation stood out for its use of modern digital presentation tools and its clear scientific delivery, reflecting the participants’ level of preparation and expertise.

Attendees expressed their appreciation for the students’ efforts, emphasizing that such activities contribute to developing students with a solid scientific foundation and the ability to address sensitive health issues through a systematic research approach.

Supervisors also praised the outstanding performance, noting that this event represents a valuable addition to the practical training program within the Department of Pharmacy.
