Date: Monday, 10 Dhul Qa’dah 1447 AH | Corresponding to April 27, 2026
Introduction:
In a step that reflects the accelerating digital transformation in academic institutions and research centers worldwide, and as part of the Modern Specialized College’s strategy to enhance technological innovation, the Information Technology Department at the Modern Specialized College witnessed a notable event: a public defense of a distinctive and innovative graduation project. The project was titled “Smart Electronic Library Management System,” representing a genuine technological leap in automating access to knowledge resources and developing academic search mechanisms, in line with the latest global smart university standards.
Under the gracious presence of the Assistant President of the Modern Specialized College, Prof. Dr. Mithaq Al-Jabr, the discussion proceedings began, drawing the attention of academics and students alike due to the project’s promise to revolutionize information management and retrieval within libraries.
Discussion Details and Judging Committee:
The innovative student team underwent a precise, transparent public discussion by a specialized, highly experienced scientific committee. The committee included prominent academics:
-
Prof. Dr. Adel Al-Shamiri (Discussant), who focused on the theoretical aspect and algorithms used.
-
Dr. Ziad Al-Bukhayti (Discussant), who tested the system’s efficiency in terms of security and usability.
-
Dr. Yasser Al-Duba’i (Project Supervisor), who guided the team through various development stages, providing outstanding academic and technical support.
The committee unanimously praised the exceptional efforts invested in designing and programming the system, affirming the efficiency of the innovative technical solutions presented by the students and their superior ability to face real challenges related to big data management in modern, multi-source libraries.
What Makes This System “Smart”? Beyond Traditional Archiving:
The project’s innovative team explained that the system is not just a traditional digital repository for books and manuscripts, but goes far beyond that to rely on advanced intelligent algorithms based on machine learning and data analytics. Among its most prominent features:
-
Enhancing User Experience through Intelligent Interactive Interfaces: Interfaces are designed to be intuitive and easy to use, accelerating access to information with high precision, featuring automatic source recommendation based on researcher behavior and search history.
-
Full Administrative Process Automation: The system minimizes human intervention in digital borrowing, automatic book classification, and knowledge inventory organization, saving librarians’ time and effort while reducing human errors.
-
Flexible Network Connectivity and Integration with Other Systems: The system provides an advanced technical environment enabling researchers and students to navigate easily between various references and sources within and outside the university network through a unified digital identity.
Conclusion and Future Vision:
This ambitious project, supervised by Dr. Yasser Al-Duba’i, clearly embodies the Modern Specialized College’s strategy to empower its students to produce real-world, immediately applicable software solutions. The project not only serves the local academic community but also establishes a clear mark in the digitization path of higher education and scientific research in the country, affirming that technological innovation is the fastest path to a brighter and smarter educational future.
